Ebay Turn Signal Levers PDF Print E-mail

Overall: Functional, but not nearly as smooth operating as Stock. I would recommend getting OEM

I recently had to replace my broken turn signal stalk, seeing the high-cost of OEM replacements I decided to check eBay. There are two options for cheap Cruise Control w/variable wiper stalks, OEM looking ones with Chrome handles, and larger later style ones. I went with the larger one as I do not like the chromed handle.

Product Example, OE on top, replacement on bottom:

Installation is simple, with the wiper in the "Off" position the handle simply pulls out of the column. Using the wire from the old stalk I pulled the new wire down through the column.

New wire plugs right into the factory harness:

So the installation is simple and straightforward enough, the stalk fits right and is functionally the same.

However, the new stalk is significantly larger and feels significantly cheaper. The cruise control functions, while operable, are clunky and don't move smoothly. The button on the end is loose and feels very cheap.

The larger size of the handle also seems to amplify the sound of the turn signal switch, so the 'Click' on activating the turn signals is significantly louder.

Also, the delay wiper functions do work properly, but the hash marks on the stalk do not line up at all. The "Off" position is correct, but none of the delay marks are in the proper location.

If I were to do this again, I would definitely spend the money on an OEM stalk. While this stalk does work, it feels far to clunky and cheap to be a good replacement.
