General Category / Fiero Help / Fiero Chat / Parking lights went by by

The parking lights on my car don't turn on when i hit the switch, the headlights will turn on, and the brake lights come on when i hit the brakes. Also my turn signals still work as do the 4-way flashers. So I know that all of my lights work individually, just not with the switch on for the park lights or the head lights. Any ideas as to the problem?

General Category / Fiero Help / Fiero Chat / Neutral Safety Switch?

I think my neutral safety switch has went bad. I was trying to get my car off of the trailer after towing it into my automotive shop and the car wouldn't turn over with the clutch in when i put it into first. But it had worked 2 minutes before when i had it in reverse. If I pushed the slider on it forward it would crank over without the clutch in, but then when I pressed the clutch to get it to adjust itself it wouldn't turn over again. I had power in the car the whole time, the lights never turned off or anything, just wouldn't crank. Could it be the switch has gone bad or is it something else?

If you can still hear the pump running when you turn the ignition to the ON position my bet would lie with the little rubber hose that connects the pump to the sending unit. Thats what failed in my car while it was sitting, and also in someone elses car that I know. If you can't hear the pump running then yes my bet is in the fuel pump. I just bought a stock replacement Carter fuel pump from autozone and it is working just fine I think I paid alittle less than $50 for it.
For removal there are three rubber hoses that connect to the fuel lines on the sending unit and the line running to the engine compartment. They will need to come off. Also there are two lager diameter hoses that go to the fuel filler cap. Also one electrical connection that plugs into the fuel sending unit, you will have to disconnect that after you lower the tank alittle bit since it sits up on top of the tank.

Yeah I want to get mine ready for next summer as well. Hopefully i can get all the parts over the winter and if it's too cold to install them as i get them then i'll just put them all on in the spring or early summer.

When i get around to doing it I will deffinatly try to remember to take pics. Kind of thinking at the moment though that it will have to wait untill spring so that it will be warm enough to leave the car door open while working.

I want to put the 4"X6" speakers in the B pillars of my 85' fiero. As you all most likely know already the 84-85's had the headrest speakers. I'm going to be using camaro seats in my fiero for a while and don't want to lose sound to the rear of the car. I'll be wiring a seperate amp to power those 2 rear speakers when i put the stock seats back in after getting them recovered(a long way off) and will be wiring the 3.5" speakers in the seats into my stereo head unit. So anyways on with my question. What all do I need to put the 4X6 rears on my car? I know I will need the B-pillars from a car that had them, but is there anything else I will need? Thanks
