Hi,just joined, great site BTW.I was wondering if it was absolutely necessary to remove/lift engine,to take out broken exhaust manifold bolts,3-4 that have broken off half way into the threads on engine block.I was told i have to lift engine by everyone to repair this mess.It is an EXPENSIVE job!!!!!!!!!!.I,m not mechanically inclined nor do i have the tools, time, know how, to do it myself, just out of the question. If there's no other way,to fix this,I'm afraid I'll have to get rid of it,which is depressing me!Its the manifold, the one you see when you look at engine, the other side probably has broken bolts also,i was told. Its a loud nasty exhaust leak, especially when cold at start up!Thanx guys!Oh yeah, its an 86 fastback GT!
