Title: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: clearamericanboy on March 23, 2008, 08:20:42 AM I was wondering how to install the flush mount headlights, i know on Fierosails.com they have lenses for sale, but then you also have to either make or buy the new headlight housing, soo i was wondering if any one has taken on this project and done it themselves and have plans on how to do it,
Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: Xanth on March 23, 2008, 08:35:34 AM I know some people have used sheet metal to create a bracket, others with fiberglass skills have made fancier ones. Here's one example:

Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: clearamericanboy on April 10, 2008, 09:07:01 AM well my grandfather makes his own wind sheilds out of plexiglass so i dug up an old one he had its was about a half inch thick plexiglass plate then i cut it in half and i heated it to bend it slightly and then used some sign material for the side walls of it, painted it all black, i'll probly redo it later but for now its a pretty good quick fix and looks good for the amount it costed me to do it

From the second pic looks like you switched to a 4 headlight setup? Nice clean install you did. Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: clearamericanboy on April 16, 2008, 06:35:30 AM it kinda is a 4 light set up, i put projector lights on the outside as high beams and undernithe the main headlight i put an led strip light for the turnsignal the spaces for the orgianal turn signals are gunna be for driving lights or fog lights havent decided yet, ill figure that out when i aim the lights and see how the light spred is, but i cant do that till i put my brake system back together, just waiten on the brake lines i got them from the fiero store
Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: Xanth on April 16, 2008, 05:41:12 PM I have FieroStore brakelines as well, they are great and line right up. I found it very helpful to remove the spare tire well from the front. Much easier to route the lines with it out of the way.
Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: clearamericanboy on April 17, 2008, 08:13:08 AM if they line up exactly with the old ones that will be real nice. after i took apart my front brake system and acidentally striped the nut on the brake line so i decided, i was pissed, to cut the old brake hose open and noiticed there is no brake fluid in it and then i noticed that my front brake pads still pretty much looked brand new while my rear were nearly gone, my front brakes wernt even working before, so i may end up getting a new master cylender as well, but maby theres just a clog in the line or somthing, might as well change out those old lines anyways, dosent the master cylender from a blazer work, a 94 maby i read?
Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: Xanth on April 17, 2008, 09:54:24 PM I don't know about the master cylinder swapping, but a Brake Booster from a 97 Chevy S10 Blazer can be modified for use with the Fiero cylinder.
You can still get rebuilt master cylinders from Fierostore.com: The Fiero Store (http://www.FieroStore.com) Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: clearamericanboy on April 18, 2008, 08:37:28 AM the master cylender on a full size 94 blazer looks the same as the fieros you just have to put the fieros MC resivoir on it, it is better to use when you put the grand am calipers on it if you like a tight pedal, i read that the fieros MC works but allows a far pedal travel whare as the blazers MC causes it to be a tighter pedal, im used to a tight pedal now so i may try that swap in the future
Title: Re: how do you install flush mount headlights? Post by: Xanth on April 19, 2008, 03:53:27 AM I'll have to look into that as well, I'll probably just go with the Blazer booster at first and see how that feels. With all new lines the pedal is pretty firm, I would just like the brakes to be a bit stronger.
